Welcoming a new team member

We have completed the hiring process for the project's first postdoctoral researcher. A 4-year contract has been signed, and we are excited to announce that Dr. Nicolas Dussex will join the project team from 1 July, 2022.

Dr. Dussex is perfectly suited for the ColdRein project given that he has a proven track record in genomics and has broad expertise in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics and population modeling. Over the past six years, his work has focused on the population genomics of both extant and extinct species (e.g., kākāpō, stoneflies, moose, woolly rhinos), with a major focus on the genomic consequences of severe declines as well as the genomic basis of adaptation.
